Visiting us
Appointments
How to book, and how visits work for home and residential care patients.
If you live in residential aged care
You do not need to make routine appointments. Dr Wilmer makes structured visits to the facilities we work with each week, or as negotiated with your facility, and reviews residents as part of regular care.
If you or your family would like a specific appointment with the doctor, call our office during office hours and we will arrange it.
If you are a home-care patient
Visits are planned with you as part of your ongoing care. If something comes up between visits, call the office during office hours. Existing home-care patients also have after-hours arrangements — see after hours and emergencies.
Everyone else: booking by phone
Book by calling the practice during office hours — 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Phone details are on our contact page. There is no online booking.
When you call, let us know if you are new to the practice, and have your Medicare card details handy. You do not need to explain your health concern in detail — a brief idea of what the visit is for helps us plan the right amount of time.
Telehealth
Some appointments can happen by phone instead of in person. Phone consultations suit follow-ups, results discussions and reviews between visits — but not everything, and the doctor may ask to see you in person after a call. Read more about telehealth.
Urgent and same-day needs
In an emergency, always call 000 (Triple Zero).
If you are unwell and feel you need care today, call us first. Calling lets us tell you honestly what is possible today and point you to the right care if we cannot see you in time — including healthdirect on 1800 022 222 for advice, or the nearest emergency department.
Running late or cancelling
If you need to cancel or change an appointment or a planned visit, please give us as much notice as you can, so the time can go to another patient.
Home visits
Dr Wilmer routinely visits home-care patients and residential aged-care residents for regular reviews and day-to-day care. If you think home visits could suit you or a family member, call us during office hours to talk it through.
